Dominik Sutowicz is a fascinating young tenor praised for his rich, dark timbre voice and heartbreaking expressiveness.


Dominik Sutowicz graduated from the Academy of Music in Łódź, Poland, under the tutelage of Professor Andrzej Niemierowicz. He is a laureate of the I Festival of the Italian Opera Music Belcanto Per Sempre. In 2008, he debuted with the role of Freddy in musical My Fair Lady by F. Loewe at the Grand Theatre in Łódź. Since his debut, Mr. Sutowicz sang many of the most demanding and recognized roles of the Italian repertoire: Cavaradossi in G. Puccini’s Tosca, Pinkertonin G. Puccini’s Madama Butterfly and Manrico in G. Verdi’s Il trovatore.

In the 2015/2016 season, he made his stage debut in S. Moniuszko’s The Haunted Manor directed by David Pountney conducted by Andriy Yurkevych at the Polish National Opera, Warsaw. He added to his repertoire the role of Don José in G. Bizet’s Carmen. Following season Dominik Sutowicz performed the part of The Prince in A. Dvorak’s Rusalka at the Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck. He debuted in the part of Jontek in S. Moniuszko’s opera Halka at the Grand Theatre in Łódź, where he also returned as Don José, Pinkerton and Daland’s steersman in R. Wagner’s Der fliegende Holländer. He also sung Manrico in Il trovatore at the Wrocław Opera and debuted in the part of Hoffmann in J. Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffmann at the Krakow Opera.

In the 2017/2018 season, Dominik Sutowicz returned to the Polish National Opera as Stefan in The Haunted Manor and as Jontek in Halka. He also sang the part of Hoffmann in Les contes d’Hoffmann at the Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck. His engagements in the 2018/2019 season include return to the part of Hoffmann, this time at the Finnish National Opera and performances at the Grand Theatre in Poznań as Don José, Jontek and in the title part in the premiere production of J. I. Paderewski’s Manru.

Mr. Sutowicz has collaborated with the following stage directors: Waldemar Zawodziński, Mariusz Treliński, Krystyna Janda, Janina Niesobska, Jacek Gąsiorowski, Laco Adamik, Herbert Adler and conductors: Tadeusz Kozłowski, Łukasz Borowicz, Tadeusz Wojciechowski, Jose Maria Florencio, Dariusz Różankiewicz, Piotr Wujtewicz, Michał Kocimski, Bassem Akiki, Sławomir Chrzanowski, Tomasz Tokarczyk, Krzesimir Dębski.

Mr. Sutowicz currently resides in Łódź, Poland, where he is an ensemble member of the Grand Theatre.
