Biography

In her work, Alicja Kokosińska, a graduate of Stage Design faculty of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, focuses on classical music & theatre productions and TV series. In 2016, she made her debut at the Krakow Opera with Donizetti’s masterpiece Don Pasquale In 2018, she created the set and costumes for Britten’s The Little Sweep at the Polish Royal Opera, and later for Massenet’s Thaïs at the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk.

In 2014, she began a two-year collaboration with the theatrical group Pożar w Burdelu for whom she has designed staging for 11 performances in a number of Warsaw theatres: Teatr WARSawy, Teatr Studio, Teatr Polski, Museum of the History of Polish Jews, Koneser Cultural Center and Open’er Festival in Gdynia. Since 2018, she has closely collaborated with the Polish band Kwiat Jabłoni, making visual identification for their tours and music videos.

Although designing for the opera and theatre was the main focus of her work, Alicja Kokosińska decided to expand her interests to TV series in order to enrich her art language. She worked in the team of production design in such series as Angel of Death and The Bay of Spies.

In between big projects the artist works as graphic designer and 3d modeler, mostly helping other stage designers or design companies to communicate their vision.
