Once again Studio Kultura is managing the national and international Media Relations of Ada Sari International Vocal Artistry Festival and Competition
In May of this year, once again, a town in the South of Poland called Nowy Sącz will host important personas of the opera world, distinguished singers, teachers and above all, young adepts of the vocal arts. The Ada Sari International Vocal Artistry Festival and Competition takes place regularly every two years since 1985. The two events interchange with each other.
On the 12th of May 2017 the Ada Sari International Vocal Artistry 19th Festival will open with a concert performance of P. Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana. The cast includes Małgorzata Walewska (Santuzza), Arnold Rutkowski (Turiddu), Mariusz Godlewski (Alfio) and Wanda Franek (Lola). The Polish Radio Choir and the Beethoven Academy Orchestra will be conducted by Francesco Bottigliero.
The Ada Sari International Vocal Artistry 17th Competition will run 13th until 20th of May 2017. This year the Competition received a record number of 81 entries from as many as 17 countries. In addition to Małgorzata Walewska hosting as Chairman, the jury consists of: Helena Łazarska – the Honor Chairman of the Jury, Constanze Könemann (Director of the Hamburg State Opera), Peter Schreier (singer – tenor, conductor), Samantha Farber (Managing Director of Sono Artists, Vienna), Sebastian Perłowski (conductor, composer), Wojciech Rodek (conductor, Artistic Director of the Grand Theatre Łódź), Marcin Habela (singer – baritone, Head of Vocal Department of the Geneva University of Music), Karen Stone (General Manager of the Theater Magdeburg), and Wojciech Maciejowski (singer – tenor, Head of Vocal Department of the Poznań Academy of Music), acting for many years as secretary of the Jury.
The Finals will take place on the 19th of May and the Laureate Concert on the 20th. On both days the soloists will be accompanied by the Krakow Opera Orchestra led by Marta Kluczyńska.
