Wanda Franek and Tadeusz Szlenkier in a premiere opening the 2017/2018 season at the Polish National Opera
13th of October 2017 Wanda Franek (Arete/Ksieni) and Tadeusz Szlenkier (Eros/Arystos/Knight-errant/de la Roche/Stefan) will make their role debuts at the Polish National Opera in L. Różycki’s opera Eros and Psyche.
The libretto, based on J. Żóławski’s novel, is a journey of Psyche and Blaks in search of Eros, each act taking place in a different space and time. This great opera has been rarely played since the Second World War, and hopefully after this premiere it will become present in opera houses in Poland and abroad.
This production is staged by Barbara Wysocka, under the music direction of Grzegorz Nowak.
